Environmental Management Policy

This policy document aims to outline Allsite Services proposals for the implementation of an effective Environmental Management System. The purpose of the management procedures is to provide details of the implementation, monitoring and review mechanisms used by Allsite Services to follow a best practice approach to Environmental Management.

The procedures will require Allsite Services to:

  •   Define the roles and responsibilities of each employee with specific duties relating toEnvironmental Management.
  •   Specify the implementation plan.
  •   Specify the monitoring procedures in place and
  •   Specify how the monitoring procedures are reviewed and assessed.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Directors of Allsite Services have the specific responsibility for the effective implementation of these procedures. Senior managers and supervisors also have a responsibility to ensure that Environmental Management policies are adhered to in the day-to-day operations of the business. All staff members are expected to adhere to the principles of the policy and management system. Specifically, the responsibilities for Directors are:

  •   Ensure adequate arrangements are in place to effectively implement and maintain the management system.
  •   Ensure good practice procedures are monitored and reported.
  •   Ensure that corrective action is taken where deficiencies are identified.
  •   Ensure that a management plan is prepared with the objectives consistent with continual improvement; and
  •  Appoint a manager responsible for Environmental Management.

The appointed manager responsible for Environmental Management will

  • Ensure pertinent technical and legislative advice is given to the Senior Management team and Directors.
  • Ensure the Management System is established, implemented and maintained.
  • Ensure the best practice procedures are implemented in accordance with LCB Construction’s Environmental Policy.
  • Report on the results of monitoring and actions to remedy identified deficiencies. Identify any significant environmental impact(s) of LCB Construction’s business activities. Arrangements for implementing the requirements of best practice procedures and for monitoring compliance and reviewing performance should be established for each best practice procedure. These should include the aims / targets of the procedure, the procedures and nominate a person responsible for implementing the procedure.

Each procedure will require monitoring to ensure that they comply with guidelines set forth in this Environmental Policy. The monitoring process should take in t consideration the following:

  • Appointed manager responsible for implementation.
  • Relevant employees responsible for implementation as described in job description.
  • Substance of information provided to each employee.
  • Reviews of actions taken.
  • Reports provided to senior management team; and
  • Annual plans outlining targets / aims.The monitoring results will need to be reported to the Senior Management team so that corrective action may be taken to remedy any deficiencies in the Environmental Management of specific items. Targets may be outlined and/or new targets set. Allsite Services recognises that many of its operations will have an impact on the local, regional and global environment. As a consequence of this, Allsite Services is commitied to continuous improvements in environmental performance and the prevention of pollution.
    Environmental laws, regulations and codes of practice will be regarded as setting the minimum standard for environmental performance.The policy sets out the guidelines to all those employed or retained by the Company and Allsite Services expect such individuals to adhere to these with the aim of achieving of the environmental management objectives. Allsite Services will implement its policy through a co-ordinated Environmental Management system.

    Aims

  • Comply with all relevant environmental laws and legislation.
  • Inform all employees of their responsibilities to adhere to best practice guidelines.
  • Set out clear objectives which are relevant to the business activities of Allsite Services
  • Identify performance targets so that the management system may be reviewed andmonitored.
  • Report on the results of monitoring and review.

    Objectives

  • Reduce the volumes of waste and recycling by re-using excess materials where appropriate promotion of environmental issues with customers and suppliers and sourcing of an environmentally friendly supply chain.
  • Reduction in the consumption of energy by implementing energy saving systems in our offices (e.g. low energy lighting, dual-flush toilets, increase natural light entering workspaces)
  • Ensure employee compliance with policy and best practice principles.
  • Reduction of carbon footprint through.

a. Sourcing of local raw materials from local suppliers consistent with the Allsite Services.
b. Providing eco-driver training for all employees / sub-contractors who use a vehicle for business purposes.
c. Assessment of office space and use of low energy office hardware where appropriate.
